Nobody ever wants to read a story about young people losing their lives. Sadly, the residents of Trenton, Georgia tuned in to the evening news to yet another story just like this. Dade county high school senior killed in a crash.
High school senior Alexis Moore was just 17-years old. Her and two of her friends were on their way to the Dade County High School Homecoming parade. While details haven’t really been released to the public, we do know that Moore was killed in the accident.
There were two other seniors in the car with her when the car crashed. Both were taken to the hospital but no information has been released regarding their condition at this time. They were on their way to the parade with their friend when they got into an accident.
The accident took place at about 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, October 4. The Homecoming dance was scheduled for this past weekend. In memory of Alexis, her student body elected her the honorary Homecoming Queen,
The school canceled all Homecoming events scheduled for Thursday night. However, they Homecoming game and dance did proceed as scheduled. The school offered counseling to any students who needed it.
What we do know is that the accident took place in the 700 block of Daniels Road in Trenton. We also know that the crash involved one other car. The names of the two girls in the car with Moore have not been released. Nor has any information on the other driver.
The investigation is still ongoing according to local authorities.
