A crash on I-75 which involved three vehicles resulted in one person injured earlier this week. The fatal wreck occurred early on the morning of Thursday, June 10. It was reported to the authorities at around 4:30 a.m.
According to the details shared by the authorities, the incident happened on I-75 South in Atlanta. The exact location of the crash on I-75 was close to the Peachtree Battle Avenue overpass. The three vehicles involved in the crash were identified as a Dodge pickup truck, a Hyundai Elantra, and another pickup truck.
All three vehicles were traveling southbound along the I-75. As the Dodge pickup reached close to the overpass, the Hyundai Elantra which was traveling right behind the pickup rear-ended it. This caused the driver of the pickup to lose control of the vehicle. The pickup then collided with the barrier wall before crashing into the third vehicle, a pickup truck.
The driver of the Dodge and the second pickup suffered minor injuries in the incident. The Hyundai Elantra suffered extensive damage and its driver suffered critical injuries in the crash. Once the first responders and paramedics arrived on the scene of the crash, the Elantra driver was transported to an area hospital for emergency treatment.
Following the crash, all southbound lanes of the I-75 were shut down to traffic. The lanes remained close for several hours before they were reopened to traffic.
Atlanta Police Department continues to investigate the crash. The focus of the investigations at this point is to ascertain how the crash occurred and who the liable party is.
In Atlanta accidents like this, one driver is typically at-fault, causing the crash. It is then possible for other victims of the crash to seek compensatory damages with the help of an Atlanta car accident lawyer.
